With today being Employee Appreciation Day, it directly relates to a Rewards and Recognition Virtual Conference I recently attended. Appreciation of the employee was the focus, utilizing it as a way to fully engage an employee who will then execute strategy and achieve desired results. The workforce is the most untapped resource many companies possess. Employee engagement yields: loyalty, productivity, and advocacy. Engagement is the largest “gear” in a company’s operations, and appreciation is the most powerful cog which produces added energy and results throughout all other gears. Knowing what is important to employees is key, and appreciation for a job well done perpetuates a productive and engaged employee. As an employer one must present their appreciation sincerely, personally, and specifically. Recognition is performance based and generates added results across the entire workforce.
